Pablo Urbanyi

In the beginning of November of 2006, Hungarian-Argentinian-Canadian  writer, Pablo Urbanyi visited Asunción to give talks at a local university and secondary school.  In a talk at the Universdadad del Norte,  Mr. Urbanyi spoke on cultural displacement and his experience as a writer in Canada.  The event was well attended by local writers, students and professors.

Mr. Urbanyi also visited Colegio del Sol, which is a local  secondary school with a strong writing program.  Mr. Urbanyi provided advice to the young writers and listened to descriptions of their short stories.  Mr. Urbanyi´s visit was one of the Centre´s main cultural events in 2006.  It provided a rare and valuable opportunity for  audiences to meet a Canadian writer and become familiar with his work.
